    • WATCH BROTHER FRANCIS:
      BORN INTO THE KINGDOM ON FORMED
       

      Login to your Formed account, and search for "brother francis born into the kingdom" to watch Born into the Kingdom: The Miracle of Baptism.
      We have prepared some discussion questions to ask your child.  You may want to spread this video over 2 sessions, depending on your child's attention span.
    • DISCUSSION Qs FOR YOU & YOUR CHILD

      After the first half (around the 12:00 minute mark), pause and discuss:

      1. What did Brother Francis say the sacrament of Baptism does? (Answer: makes us squeaky clean, washes away our sin, makes us a part of a big family) 
      2. How does Jesus make us part of his family? (Answer: he invites us into the family of God & special graces) 
      3. Who is in God’s family?
      At the end of the video:
      1. When Jesus spoke to His disciples, what did he tell them to do? (Answer: Baptize in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit)
      2. What happened at your Baptism? Parents, what do you remember about the day of your child's Baptism?
      3. Who are your Godparents?  Do you have your Baptism candle?
      4. How can you make your light shine today? Name 3 things.
    • - HOLY WATER : A REMINDER OF OUR BAPTISM -

      Holy water is regular water, blessed by a priest.  At your baptism, the priest blessed the water you were baptised with.  Using holy water reminds us of our baptism.  We can use holy water to bless ourselves, our families and our homes. Holy water is not magic.  Holy water must be used with FAITH.  You can always refill your holy water bottle and have a priest bless it if you use up what is in your craft kit. You will need this holy water for our 2nd Sunday experience. (See the schedule in your craft kit)

      For Parents: Here is a little prayer of blessing you can use when blessing your child before they go off to school. Take some holy water on your thumb, make the sign of the cross on your child's forhead and say: 

      "May the Lord bless you and keep you; ,may He make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you;and give you peace:"

      (Numbers 6:24-26)

    • OUR FATHER
      Our Father, who art in heaven,
      hallowed be Thy name,
      Thy kingdom come,
      Thy will be done,
      on earth as it is in heaven.
      Give us this day our daily bread,
      and forgive us our trespasses,
      as we forgive those
      who tresspass against us,
      and lead us not into temptation,
      but deliver us from evil.

    • HAIL MARY
      Hail Mary, full of grace
      the Lord is with you
      blessed are you among women,
      and blessed is the fruit
      of Thy womb Jesus.
      Holy Mary, Mother of God,
      pray for us sinners, now,
      and at the hour of our death.
      Amen.

    • GLORY BE
      Glory to the Father 
      and to the Son, 
      and to the Holy Spirit;
      As it was in the beginning, 
      is now and will be forever.

      Amen.

    • ACT OF CONTRITION
      My God,
      I love you with all my heart
      and I am sorry for my sins. 
      Please forgive me. 
      I promise not to sin again. 
      Help me always to be like you.
      Amen.
      OR

      Dear God,
      I am sorry for doing wrong. Please forgive me all my sins.
      I know you love me very much. Help me to love you in return
      and care for others as you do. 
      Amen.
